Exaggeration (Ghlūw) among Sunni Fanatics about their Holy Syria

Sunnis often alledge that Shi'a revere Karbala more than Mecca and Medina while the reality is far from this. While in contrast their own books point that neither Mecca nor Medina is best land on earth rather it is "Holy" land of Syria (Birth place of Modern "Nawasibism" - Hate of Ali [as] and his family).

Narrated by Imam Abu Dawūd like this from Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) :

سَيَصِيرُ الأَمْرُ إِلَى أَنْ تَكُونُوا جُنُودًا مُجَنَّدَةً جُنْدٌ بِالشَّامِ وَجُنْدٌ بِالْيَمَنِ وَجُنْدٌ بِالْعِرَاقِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ ابْنُ حَوَالَةَ خِرْ لِي يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنْ أَدْرَكْتُ ذَلِكَ ‏.‏ فَقَالَ ‏"‏ عَلَيْكَ بِالشَّامِ فَإِنَّهَا خِيَرَةُ اللَّهِ مِنْ أَرْضِهِ يَجْتَبِي إِلَيْهَا خِيَرَتَهُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ فَأَمَّا إِنْ أَبَيْتُمْ فَعَلَيْكُمْ بِيَمَنِكُمْ وَاسْقُوا مِنْ غُدُرِكُمْ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ تَوَكَّلَ لِي بِالشَّامِ وَأَهْلِهِ .

"It will turn out that you will be armed troops, one is Syria, one in the Yemen and one in Iraq. Ibn Hawalah said: Choose for me, Messenger of Allah (pbuh), if I reach that time. He replied: Go to Syria, for it is Allah's best land on earth, to which his best servants will be gathered, but if you are unwilling, go to your Yemen, and draw water from your tanks, for Allah has on my account taken special charge of Syria and its people.

Investigator of the book Shaykh Zubair Ali Za'i says :

Chain of Narration is Authentic. Also narrated by Iman Ahmad bin Hanbal in his Musnad.

Shaykh Nasirudeen Albāni has also quoted this in his book of Authentic narrations.

Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal has also quoted via his own chain.

Investigator of the book Allamah Shouib Al Arna'ut says : The Narration is Authentic.

Their scholars have even written full books in praise of Syria. This one is from one their imams Ali bin Muhammad Rab'e investigated by Nasirudeen Albāni.

Has it ever came to your mind why Ahl ul Sunnah has so much love for Syria ?

Ibn Kathir says :

وقد عاكس الرافضة والشيعة يوم عاشوراء النواصب من أهل الشام، فكانوا إلى يوم عاشوراء يطبخون الحبوب ويغتسلون ويتطيبون ويلبسون أفخر ثيابهم ويتخذون ذلك اليوم عيدا

“The Nawasib of Syria used to contradict the Rafidha and Shia on the day of Ashura, they (Nawasib) used to bake, bath, use perfumes, wearing their best clothes and consider that day as feast”.

So it is clear that they do this exaggeration towards the Syria only because of Nasibi belief of People there and Ahl ul Sunnah have their roots from them.
